Comstock Statement On Congressional App Challenge

August 28, 2017
Press Release

Washington, DC - Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (VA-10) released the following statement detailing this year’s Congressional App Challenge:

“This is the third year that my office has participated in the Congressional App Challenge and we once again are excited to see the innovative apps that our students will create.   The team environment of the Congressional App Challenge is one where our students can learn from and teach one another and build skills that will help them become technology leaders and innovators as they go on to higher education and a career in the increasingly critical STEM fields.  This year we look forward to seeing the technology skills on display as students from across Virginia’s 10th District join with classmates and friends to take their skills to the next level and compete amongst their peers in the competitive Congressional App Challenge.”

The Congressional App Challenge runs through November 1st, 2017, challenging high school students to design and create an original app for submission.  Eligible high school students in Virginia’s 10th Congressional District may enter this challenge as individuals or groups of not more than four students and will be judged by a panel chosen by the Office of Congresswoman Barbara Comstock.  The submitted app can be on any topic, provided it is original, appropriate, and has been made within the last year.  For more information, please visit our website at
