Comstock Receives Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence
Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R-VA) released the following statement after she received the NAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence. Per NAM, the NAM Award is given to those members of the United States House of Representatives and Senate who have earned a 70 percent or higher rating on key manufacturing votes as recorded in the 2017-2018 NAM's 115th Congressional Voting Record.
"I appreciate this strong support of our Manufacturers. I have worked tirelessly with our manufacturers to fight to bring jobs back home and for a regulatory environment that allows them to thrive so American innovation can be unleashed in our country. The “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act” we passed has spurred 4.2% economic growth in this last quarter and our manufacturers now have near record high levels of optimism and projected wage growth is the fastest pace in nearly 2 decades. The highest priority for the majority of our manufacturers is to retain a quality workforce and we will continue working to reform the regulatory landscape to create more good-paying jobs in Virginia. The wake of the recent tax reform legislation we passed has boosted economic enthusiasm and brought about unprecedented opportunities nationwide. I am pleased to have a strong partnership with our manufacturers so we can keep on this track of economic growth so families and businesses continue to reap the results we have and for which we will continue to work."
