Comstock On NTSB Oversight Recommendation Of Metro
September 30, 2015
Press Release
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R-VA) issued the following statement after the National Transportation Safety Board recommended that the Federal Railroad Commission should take over safety oversight of Metro. Currently, the Federal Transit Administration has jurisdiction on oversight of Metro:
“Safety for rail passengers should be the number one goal of Metro. With today’s NTSB recommendations it is clear that Metro is falling short of that goal and more aggressive oversight to change the culture at Metro is needed. I will work with my colleagues in Congress as we move forward on the next steps following these important NTSB recommendations.”
