Comstock Announces Nearly $1.5 Million Federal Firefighter Grant for Loudoun County
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R-VA) released the following statement about Loudoun County Fire and Rescue receiving an Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) award of $1,486,000 from FEMA. Congresswoman Comstock’s legislation that authorized the AFG grant program for 7 years, H.R. 4661, passed the House and was signed into law in January.
“As Loudoun County grows our emergency service personnel are charged with more and more responsibility. The men and women of Loudoun County Fire and Rescue work hard day and night, ready to protect our community at a moment’s notice. I am pleased the Department of Homeland Security recognizes the service and sacrifices of the department and awarded this significant Assistance to Firefighters Grant to support response and safety operations."
