Comstock Announces 2017 Congressional Art Competition
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Barbara Comstock today announced the 2017 Congressional Art Competition for Virginia’s 10th Congressional District. The competition is open to all high school students who reside in the District. The Best in Show winner of the competition will have their piece of art displayed in the United States Capitol. Congresswoman Comstock is a member of the Congressional Art Caucus and started the House Arts Caucus in the Virginia General Assembly.
“Each year we look forward to the Congressional Art Competition so we can experience the creativity of the students firsthand when everyone comes together for our annual art competition reception. The number of submissions continues to grow year by year as students from schools across Virginia’s 10th District realize their potential and compete for Best In Show. Thank you to the dedicated art teachers in our community who encourage students to enter their artwork so their artistic talent can be recognized and we can be exposed to wonderful new pieces by local students.”
Students should drop-off their completed artwork on April 17th between 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Enterprise Hall on the George Washington Virginia Science & Technology Campus. Art submitted must be ready to hang and entries are limited to two per student.
